Wyandotte county lake shelter number 3 was the location of Mario’s BBQ and Italian Bike Show. It was also the location of the second annual Desmodromiclub Duc Bark. The Duc Bark is a sound contest where contestants ride their Ducati around a circle drive in front of the shelter and impress the judges with the BARK of their Duc.

Mario’s BBQ/Bike show was a Hospitality event this year. It has long been the wish of Mario to have this event free to all. Desmodromiclub Kansas City and Mid America Ducati Owners Group (M.A.D.O.G.) made Mario’s wish come true in accepting the financial responsibilities of the BBQ. John Avelluto also is a major contributor in the success of the BBQ. Italian Delight has long been a silent sponsor of Mario’s BBQ.

With the invitation for all to join us, many people took this opportunity to experience the splendor of the Ducati life style. Hundreds of people turned out. Mario once again out did himself with a wonderfully prepared meal. Laureen Wilde and Dave Wuthnow brought there own special treat to the event. Laureen brought her delicious potato salad and Dave brought his famous BBQ beans. Mario received many complements on how delicious everything was.

Over thirty entrees in this year's Duc Bark made it a HUGE event. The members of Desmodromiclub Kansas City judged the Duc Bark. As each Duc passed the Judges it was given a score of one through ten. After all the Ducs had made their pass we gathered in the Desmodromiclub tent to tally the votes. There where two Ducati’s that had impressed the judges the most. With the winner gaining 2.5 points on the runner up.

Doug Fox of Overland Park Kansas is this year's Duc Bark Champion with Andrew Brady as the runner up. Doug Fox won on his 1981 900SS with Megaphone mufflers; he impressed the judges from the start when he kicked it to life. Doug has a very sweet sounding Duc, and yes it BARKED.

Andrew Brady was very close with his 2005 999 with Megaphone mufflers. Andrew played to the judges with a spectacular presentation right in front of the panel of judges. For his Barking Duc Doug received the Desmodromiclub Duc Bark Champion trophy, Knox back protector, Motowheels race umbrella, Italian Delight gift certificate and a cash award. Andrew Brady received a Motowheels race umbrella an Italian Delight gift certificate and a cash award.

I want to thank all of our sponsors for making this event such a great success.
